MCCALL, Idaho (CBS 2) - Firefighters are battling a new wildfire burning about 30 miles north of McCall, near Burgdorf.

The Nethker fire broke out around 2:20 p.m. Sunday, a few miles southwest of Burgdorf in the Payette National Forest. As of early Monday, the fire was mapped at 100 acres. Additional resources are being called in to help fight the fire Monday, with the intent of controlling the flames as quickly as possible.

"Today's (Monday) weather will really tell the story with this fire and whether we can hold it to where it is now," incident commander Brian Harris said. "Today is bringing some weather that could equate to the fire picking up and going, in addition to seeing new fire starts."

While the fire didn't grow much overnight Sunday, firefighters are concerned that hot temperatures and strong winds could fan the flames. Currently it is movingeast toward Warren Wagon road. Warren Wagon Road and Burgdorf-French Creek Road are both open Monday morning.

Jeanette Campground and dispersed campsites were evacuated, and Burgdorf residents have been evacuated as well.

Ten airtankers, five helicopters, eight crews and nine engines were assigned to the fire as of Sunday night.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but lightning is suspected.
